XRAI Glass: Revolutionizing Communication Through Augmented Reality
XRAI Glass, a pioneering AR software solution provider, has introduced a technology that allows users with hearing impairments to read speech in real-time through hidden subtitles displayed on AR smart glasses. This innovative app converts audio into text, making conversations accessible and inclusive for all.
The XRAI Glass app works by capturing audio through a microphone and converting it into a subtitled version of the dialogue, which then appears on the screen of a companion AR glass. This groundbreaking feature not only transcribes conversations instantly but also identifies speakers and offers translation options in multiple languages. Currently, the app supports translation and transcription in over 76 languages and 140 dialects, including English, Mandarin, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.
The development of XRAI Glass was inspired by the founder, Dan Scarfe, after visiting his grandfather. Dan saw the potential to use technology to break social isolation among hearing-impaired individuals. The app has already gained 5000 global users and support from charities such as the UK Royal National Institute for Deaf People and DeafKidz International. With this app, users can engage in conversations seamlessly across various settings, whether in social gatherings or professional environments.
One of the key features of XRAI Glass is its compatibility with various AR glasses, including Nreal Air, Rokid Max, XREAL Air, and TCL NXTWEAR S. This allows users to pin, move, and adjust subtitles in 3D space, enhancing their augmented reality experience. Moreover, the app works seamlessly with cloud transcription services from Amazon, Microsoft, and Deepgram, ensuring real-time and accurate subtitles.
In addition to real-time transcription, XRAI Glass offers an AI-driven personal assistant that can summarize conversations, answer questions, and provide information such as weather updates. The app also includes a feature for managing conversation history, allowing users to search, share, and delete transcripts as needed. Privacy is a top priority for XRAI Glass, with all conversations stored directly on the user's phone, ensuring that only the user has access to them.
XRAI Glass is not just limited to assisting hearing-impaired individuals; it has broader applications in education, business, and social settings. For example, it can be used for live transcription in lectures, seminars, and meetings, providing automatic meeting notes for businesses. The app's voice notes feature is particularly beneficial for individuals with Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Dan Scarfe, the founder and CEO of XRAI Glass, expressed his excitement about the global launch of the app. "We believe this innovative technology can enhance the connectivity of millions of hearing-impaired individuals worldwide," he said. XRAI Glass is offered through a tiered subscription model, with a free Essentials plan providing basic features, including unlimited transcription in nine languages and one day of conversation history.
As XRAI Glass continues to evolve, the company plans to add more features, such as reverse transcription and American Sign Language (ASL) translation, further enhancing the accessibility and usability of the app. With this technology, XRAI Glass is redefining what is possible with augmented reality and setting a new standard for inclusive communication.
